Scholarships and Funding

Attending IIT is an enriching experience that creates opportunities for your future, whether in graduate study, the workplace or daily life.

You may be wondering if you can afford such a great education. Perhaps the better question is whether you can afford to pass it up. IIT offers the financial aid and scholarship support to make sure that you don’t have to. At IIT, more than 97 percent of students receive some type of financial aid, whether it be need-based, merit-based, or both. There are also scholarship opportunities that can cover most of your college expenses.

All IIT Undergraduate Students

All full-time students are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships when their application for admission is reviewed.
 
Freshman domestic students are eligible for the Heald Scholarship (starting at: $10,000).
 
Domestic transfer students are reviewed for Transfer Tuition Scholarships (starting at: $10,000).
 
International applicants are eligible for a combination of scholarship and grant packages, including international merit scholarships, housing award, and Phi Theta Kappa membership, up to a total of $20,000.

DUCHOSSOIS LEADERSHIP SCHOLARS

The Duchossois Leadership Scholars Program is a nationally preeminent, elite scholarship program providing full-tuition with a room and board allowance which attracts top students nationwide who demonstrate exceptional leadership potential and academic success in their projected field. The Duchossois Family Foundation makes this scholarship possible..
 

CAMRAS SCHOLARS PROGRAM

Candidates competing for the Camras Scholars Program, one of IIT's highest undergraduate academic honors, satisfy very high selection standards. Students must demonstrate outstanding academics, involvement in extracurricular activities and dedication to leadership.
 
Camras Scholars enjoy full tuition benefits, leadership development and enhanced access to research and community service opportunities.
 

UNIVERSITY SCHOLARS PROGRAM

Candidates competing for the University Scholars Program must demonstrate outstanding highs school grades, standardized test scores, provide written recommendations, personal qualities and involvement in extracurricular activities.
 
Recipients of the University Scholarship Program receive a merit award of $30,000 per year for up to four years of undergraduate study—a $120,000 value.
 

CHICAGO POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS SCHOLARSHIP

In honor of their service to the city of Chicago, IIT offers $20,000 annual scholarships to the children and grandchildren of members of the Chicago Police Department and Chicago Fire Department. The Chicago Police and Fire Departments Scholarship is also open to the children and grandchildren of members of the Chicago Paramedic Department.
 

COLLENS SCHOLARS PROGRAM

The Collens Scholarship, is for eligible Chicago Public School graduates to attend IIT as a full-time student with full financial support for all tuition, books and fees. Since its launch at the end of the 2006 academic year, 181 CPS students have benefited from this program.
 

Lewis College Undergraduate Scholarships

William C. Bartholomay Endowed Psychology Scholarship

Provides annual partial tuition scholarships for Psychology undergraduate students.

William C. Bartholomay Lewis College of Human Sciences Endowed Undergraduate Scholarship

Provides annual partial tuition scholarships for Lewis College undergraduate students.

David J. Vitale Undergraduate Psychology Endowed Scholarship

Provides annual partial tuition scholarships for Psychology undergraduate students.

Graduate Fellowships

Clinical Psychology Expendable Fellowship and Research Fund

Awarded annually to a Clinical Psychology Student.

Charles "Arch" Pounian Endowed Fellowship

Awarded annually to an I/O Psychology graduate student based on application and financial need.

The John (’85) and Kimberly Scott Expendable Graduate Fellowship

Awarded to an I/O Psychology graduate student.

Phil S. & Harriett C. Shurrager Endowed Fellowship

Awarded annually to an I/O Psychology graduate student.

Mary Vermillion Graduate Endowed Fellowship

Provides Psychology graduate students partial tuition and stipend.
