Dual Admission Honors Law Program

Chicago-Kent College of Law

Are you thinking about attending law school and pursuing a career in law, government, healthcare, or politics? Illinois Tech’s Dual Admission Honors Law program can help get you there faster.*  The best part is—if you are admitted to an undergraduate program at Illinois Tech, you are automatically guaranteed admission to Illinois Tech’s Chicago-Kent College of Law if you meet the school’s GPA and LSAT requirements.

Typically, it takes students seven years to complete their B.S./J.D. education—four years of undergraduate education and three years of law school. By participating in the Dual Admission Honors Law program, you will be on an accelerated 3+3 program and finish your undergraduate and law degrees in six years.

In this program, you will complete your major requirements during your first three years at Illinois Tech. During your fourth year, you will enroll in Chicago-Kent College of Law to begin your first year of law school. The credits you earn doing this will simultaneously serve to fulfill your fourth-year course requirement as an undergraduate.

* The Dual Admission Honors Law program is open to students of all majors, including students who transfer to Illinois Tech. However, due to the curriculum requirements for students in the Armour College of Engineering, engineering majors participating in the Dual Admission Honors Law program are on a 4+3 program schedule.
