Admissions Requirements

All students applying to or already enrolled in Illinois Tech can apply to the Dual Admission Honors Law program if they meet the following criteria. International students are also eligible to apply.  

In addition to the standard Illinois Tech application, supplemental application information is required for admission into the Dual Admission Honors Law program.

Admissions Requirements for High School Applicants

  • 3.5/4.0 GPA
  • ACT or SAT
    • Minimum ACT composite: 28
    • Minimum old SAT composite (math + verbal): 1280
    • Minimum new SAT composite (math + verbal): 1340
  • Top 25% of your graduating class (if your school ranks)
  • Application deadline: April 1

  • Completed application submitted to the pre-law advisor. Download the application here.
  • Interview with the pre-law advisor
  • Application deadline: Before the start of your third-year

Admissions Requirements for Chicago-Kent College of Law

A student accepted into the Dual Admission Honors Law (B.S./J.D.) program is guaranteed admission to Chicago-Kent College of Law if the student meets the following criteria:

  • Maintain a 3.25 GPA at Illinois Tech
  • Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) score of 150
    • 3+3 Program: You must take the LSAT by February of your third undergraduate year
    • 4+3 Program: You must take the LSAT by February of your fourth undergraduate year
  • Submit a completed application to Chicago-Kent by April 15
    • 3+3 Program: Submit your application during the third undergraduate year
    • 4+3 Program: Submit your application during the fourth undergraduate year
  • Maintain a record consistent with the requirements of the bar examining program

Students who participate in the Dual Admission Honors Law program, but who do not meet the criteria for guaranteed admission, are invited to apply through the regular competitive application process for admission to Chicago-Kent after three or four years of undergraduate study. In reviewing such applications, consideration will be given to the student’s participation in the Dual Admission Honors Law program.
