Advising PIN (required for registration each semester)

New First-Semester Graduate Students

The Department of Psychology will issue your Advising PIN required for registration in the first semester of graduate enrollment at Illinois Tech. In order to receive your PIN, please email your advisor prior to arriving on campus. The contact information for the psychology faculty is available here.

If you do not know the name of your adviser, please contact the director of graduate studies for your degree program:

Continuing Graduate Students

Continuing students can access their PIN for registration in the myIIT portal.

If you do not see your PIN in the portal, please contact your adviser for an advising meeting. The contact information for the psychology faculty is available.

If you do not know the name of your adviser or are unable to reach your adviser, please contact the director of graduate studies for your degree program.

Graduate Academic Advising

Graduate students are required to complete a mandatory advising session with the graduate academic (or Accelerated Master's Program) adviser. The GP Graduate (Program) Advising Hold becomes active before the next semester of registration opens for:

  • Accelerated master's students in the first semester of graduate enrollment
  • Traditional master's students at 9 earned or enrolled credits
  • Doctoral students at 18 earned or enrolled credits
  • The hold prevents registration before the following semester until lifted by the adviser
  • The mandatory advising session is required for the student to clear the registration hold
